It was great presenting our work at the American Association of Biological Anthropologists (2023) yesterday! The importance of bees and beekeeping can be embedded in individual minds from early childhood days. The Tanzanian Maasai, noted for their pastoral life, have seen recent initiatives like sustainable beekeeping activities in their area. Our key research question is how the Maasai children are faring with the introduction of beekeeping in their society. Maasai children survey findings showed their enthusiasm and empathy toward bees, despite being scared of bees.
